Since then, MGS games have been enjoying steady popularity up until 2015, when they went on hiatus. It captured the spirit of major action movie blockbusters and wed it to smart, easily accessible gameplay, and a strong, unforgettable story. Metal Gear Solid took the franchise from a top-down platforming perspective to a fully realized 3D world.
